Description

AQ&Q RO Pump

The reverse osmosis booster pump’s role is to raise the water pressure entering the RO unit. The mechanism of reverse osmosis is driven by friction. Small residential RO units will technically work at very low pressures—down to 35 psi, according to some membrane manufacturers—but the truth is that if the pressure is below 45 psi, you won’t get much water and the product water quality will be compromised. The machine produces more reject water, less drinking water, fills the storage tank more slowly, and produces lower quality water while the inlet pressure is low. RO units operate well with 60 psi city water pressure, but they work much better with a small pump to raise the pressure to 80 psi or greater.

. greater. Boosting pumps are used in circumstances where the usual water pressure supplying a device is insufficient and needs to be boosted – in other words, anytime you need to raise water pressure. In order for a reverse osmosis (RO) device to operate properly, it must be fed at least 50 pounds per square inch of strain. If the RO system’s water pressure is less than 50 psi, the system can emit less water of poorer quality. The pre-treatment (RO boost) water pressure boosting pumps are designed primarily for increasing the water pressure (boost water pressure). A pressure switch and transformer are required for most booster pumps.
